Circus Vertigo 2010, video, length: 5 min and live performance (project in collaboration with Will Goss)
A video work and life performance based around a punk band in the making, consisting out of three 13-year olds. The video was shot during their actual band practices and examines the relationship between the making of music and its wider social context –the way music plays a role –since forever –to define oneself and find a place of belonging. Certain actions are scripted others just unfold, exploring the influence that the camera exerts on the behavior it seeks to record and the world it seeks to depict, the volatile and exciting universe of 13-year olds – who are equally keenly aware and assertive as they are vulnerable and manipulative.
